Focus and Scope

Journal of Smart Bioprospecting and Technology (JSMARTech) is an international journal covering aspects of biochemical, genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, natural product, metabolism, biopharmaceuticals, biodiversity, systematics, biomedical, molecular biology, molecular genetics, nutrigenomic, herbal medicine, DNA barcoding, nanotechnology, agriculture, and bioremediation.

Peer Review Process

The review process of the submitted manuscript will follow the following steps:

  1. The manuscript is first evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and can be declined if it lacks strong scientific merit and does not fit into the journal scopes.
  2. Editor-in-Chief will assign a handling Editor to further examine the manuscript for any indications of plagiarisms and study misconducts.
  3. The manuscript will be sent by the Editor to at least two independent reviewers. The review will be conducted in Double-Blind Review process. (Review process takes two weeks till two months, based on reviewer).
  4. The author (s) must make a revise process as soon as possible. The decision of the revised manuscript will be evaluated based on the reviewer recommendation from among several possibilities: published directly, need a minor revision, require a major revision, and rejected.
  5. The Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Smart Bioprospecting and Technology (JSMARTech) has the right to decide which manuscripts submitted to the journal should be published.

The Center for Intelligent Molecular Studies based on Natural Genetic Sources, known as SMONAGENES, is one of the leading centers of science and technology which was formally established in 2018 under the auspices of the Institute of Research and Community Service of Brawijaya University (LPPM-UB). The establishment of this study center stems from the massive activity of researchers in the Smart Molecules of Natural Genetic Resources (SMONAGENES) working group. This research group focuses on the sustainable use of natural genetic resources (germplasm), molecular biomechanics of cascade genes from metabolism and degenerative diseases, gene mapping, and DNA barcoding.
